THAT IS THE LONGEST LOG I HAVE EVER SEEN........ Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR ) DOES THIS mean something???? what type of media are you using??????? is your burner on its way out?????????
thanks for your speedy reply no clue what "Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR )" means the brands called "great quality", been buying them from fry's electronics for years. I don't think its a matter of the hardware since the indentical problem occurs with both my internal and my external.
no, I got rid of all roxio using the roxio zapper. The media is called "Great Quality" It sounds sleasly but I've used it for years. I'm going to try to get some new media soon.
listen iam not the best at this but from going to different forums about media i have learned alot like to use good media like tys buy some fugi dvd-r or dvd+r look at the rapper for made in japan they are ty media remember to look for made in japan .some say made in tiawan they are (fugifilm03)they are ok but not as good as ty. trust me. HEY check your discs with nero info tool tell me who makes these babies(GREAT QUAILTY)
try the ones with the label.......... if it still messes up buy a shreder machine that does dvds and have some fun shreding them. the ones without labels are total JUNK......... DO THOSE FIRST. i had some dvds without labels and they were nothing but junk they stood still and skipped . get some fugis and not the shreader.........
in addition to other replies... - burner's firmware is old, 1.0K is here - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=696 [bold]last updated July 2003!![/bold]. you need to keep the firmware up to date to cope with newer media/burn speeds etc - DMA needs to be ON, fix via this - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm - if all other suggestions don't work, try better media - follow ALL other suggestions
rabble, still a fail. I did the two things that you suggested with the old media and still nothing. Remember that it also happens with two different drives and with cd's and dvd's. I guess I'll try with new media but since I've been using this media before just fine it makes no sense why it would suddenly stop working. Also is there some outside data verification program that I can use, the computer freezes sometimes when I try to play the burnt data, but other times it seems to work fine. Oh, and here is the error message I got this time, as you can tell I"m using the internal cdr. http://uweb.ucsb.edu/~richiey/Logcderror3.txt thanks again for trying
