I have a coupple of dvd's that i riped on 1 computer and now i'm trying to play them on another computer and the sound is out of sync. They play fine on the first computer. Its not a Mhz problem because the computer that i'm playing it on (1533mhz) is faster then the orginal one (850mhz) that riped it and that one plays the movies fine. If i play the movie in virtual dub it plays fine all the way, but if i try to play it in the middle of the movie it does not keep synced and if i use a media player like sasami, divx2.1 or windows media player 8 i get the same results. I found that if i re-encode the sound to CBR instead of ABR it plays fine. I use lame ACM .9 and Divx 5.0.3 to play the movie was encoed with lame acm .9 and divx 5.0.2 If anyone has any solutions to this other then redo the movies, i would like to hear them. thanks -mike
yep, i have all codecs installed. and i have tryed nimo codec pack 7, 8, 9 beta (btw all of thoes play divx 5.02 pro incorrectly) and unregrested the codecs using regsvr32 /u and regedit and reinstalled them, and still no fix. I'm gonna try not using lame for playback, even though it was encoded with it. I'll tell ya how it goes in a day or so.
i used gspot to confirm that i was using a different audio codec (fraunhofer) to decode and i still have the problem, and vitrual dub still plays the movie fine... so i'm stumped. can someone maybe give tell me about a player that works just like vitrual dub for playing movies. thanks. also in one of the movies it has a long silent part at the begging, and the movie pauses after about 25 frames of play for aound 4 seconds and then again around 125 frames for another 3 seconds. the beging of the file is encoded at 32kbit and the average bitrate is 124kb and gspot says its 150kb. got any ideas?
ya that doesn’t work. but thanks for the help. i guess this is one of the mysteries of the might divx format.
