I download a lot of flash movies from the web and manage to convert them to vcd format.I am a novice and I do this in 2 steps as my media .flv file is usually 450mb.First I convert them to .avi to bring it down to 210mb and then to vcd-pal compliant format. There are enough free-wares for doing all these. But the problem comes in burning them as vcds for me to watch them in the TV screen using my stand alone player.I am using the burner in the Total Video Converter package or WinAv video converter. But both are paid ones and can be used only as a trial for a limited period. Is there a free burning software for vcd?Can Burnatonce do it?I tried but could not manage it. Please help.
'Burnatonce' will burn a VCD image (from the cue file). 'The Film Machine' can convert AVI to VCD image (bin/cue). http://members.home.nl/thefilmmachine/ http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_applications/burnatonce.cfm
EasyVCD cannot convert AVI. The free version of TMPGenc will convert AVI to VCD or if using the KVCD template up to two hours of running time. Then use VCD Easy to make the bin/cue files and optionally, 'Burnatonce' to burn the disk.
I have succeeded in using Burnatonce to burn the cue/bin file and play it to watch on the Tv screen. But the problem is that I can do it only by using a CD-RW.How can I change the settings for burning CD-R? Please help urgently. In the settings it shows CR-RW and I am not able to change it.
No.The burning process goes through and completes successfully. But when I play it in the player there is nothing in the TV screen where as when I do this same thing with a CD-RW everything is all right. When I looked at the device settings it is shown as CD-RW and I thought it is the reason and I should change it to CD-R. If you think there is some other reason please advice me.
Thanks for the advice.I have set the speed to 16 as you suggested.I will try it now.Hope I am not going to waste one more CD! But why are both write settings and read settings having a drop down menu but cannot change the settings? Is there any other free application that can burn these bin-cue files?
I am sorry. The test failed. After writing I put the CD in the player but nothing happened. There were almost invisible greenish lines running across the TV screen as it was being played by CD player. Please think over it and find a solution.I am at my wits end.Everything is alright when I do the same thing on a CD-RW. Hope you will unravel this mystery.
