I live in Japan where due to copyright issues, VCDs were never available. At the moment, because I don't have a DVD drive, I'm burning all of my home video MPEG files to VCDs via Nero. Because VCDs were never used here in Japan, the majority of DVD players won't play my VCds. Nero claims that VCDs can be played in most DVD players, and I'm just wondering how much truth there is to that statement. Most of the VCDs that I make are for the purpose of sending to friends and family in the US. Is it save to assume that most of the DVD players in the states will in fact play VCD discs? dave
@Tokyodave Welcome to aD! All of my players play vcd's (US). I don't use them often though. If you want to make sure check the make and model at this site - it will tell you everything that can be played. http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers
