    Hello all.

I have been trying to make VCDs from a few .avi files.

I tried once with the nero that came with my burner and again with CDBurnerXP. Both work in the computer. But, not in my dvd player. I thought my player would play that format. But, apparently not.

I really only have 2 questions.

1.) Which file format would work best in a DVD player?
    and...
2.) Which software will convert the files for me? Preferably for free.

    Thanks in advance.

The free version of Tmpgenc 2.5 will convert your avi to
    VCD compliant mpeg 1 files.
Then you can burn them with Nero. Or you ca look for the free version
of VCDeasy. If it doesn't work,
try something like DVD Flick and create DVD instead of vcd.

Thanks for the info. I'll give that a shot.
