VCD mpeg file to AVI

    this is a problem that has many ppl in question. i have an ISO copy of a VCD movie. inside that ISO copy since its a vcd or svcd there is a mepgv folder where the movie is located.

    the prople is how to convert that to AVI or other formats so that i am able to burn it with Nero. the file in the mpegv folder is a ".dat" file. i used the winmaq converter but its not free. therefore it will winmaq on every frame.

    nero is able to burn this but when it gets to the file which is in mpegv format it will not dectat it

    any1 know wat i can do or if there is a free converter????

    Use VCDgear and do the command [bold]dat -> mpeg[/bold]. It will convert, in few minutes, the .dat file into a 'true mpeg'.
    After, convert MPG -> AVI with VirtualDub, using the Xvid codec (both free).
