You can use PS2mediaplayer,but you will have to use some kind of boot method to get it to work.I have it installed on a memcard exploit,it allows Vcd and alot more file types to be played.
I do Not have a mod but I CAN play backups. were do i get ps2mediplayer from? is it free or do u buy it? And how do you install it on a mem card? Thanks kyle.R
Yeah that's true but you will have to modify your PS2 so you can boot the media player (modchip or swap magic).
Your not talking about like .mov, .rm, .mpeg are yah cause if you are Id like to know what you have Done to PS2 Media Player for it to do this
divx is a better quality most of the time anyways and thats all the media player plays so just get the media player and download divx videos somewhere.
Well this is what all PS2MediaPlayer can play: Supported Formats Video Mode: Video MPEG4-ISO (like xvid) Audio MP3, OGG (mode 1, mode 1+), PCM and AC3 Audio and video should be in AVI format. (Don't Work with OGM) Audio Mode Audio files : MP3 only. Image Mode Image files: JPG Then there is another thing you can use to mess with more formats, which comes with Action Replay Max called Media Creator.I know I should have mentioned that earlier, but sorry alright. It can cover alot of formats for media on the PS2,VCD also works but you have to install the PS2MediaPlayer for it work.I hope this helps you out,if you try to play certain media types like MP3,VCD etc... files on the PS2 without using this prorgram it won't play it.I'm not really sure Dude2099 with the certain formats you mentioned to be honest,I haven't tested out the formats you mentioned yet.Gonna have to look into that though,I am sure it is possible.Nelswick knows what he is talking about,it covers alot of formats in addition to using the PS2 default player.VCD is playable on the PS2,but you have to use the PS2MediaPlayer in conjunction.I would suggest picking up Media Creator from Action Replay Max or wherever you can find it also,it is very usefull when dealing with media on the PS2.
You can find a big thread on memory card exploits on here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/109289 .The PS2MediaPlayer comes with an .Elf file so you can launch it from the memcard or even HDD if you wanted to.Hope it helps you out man and good luck,I am certain VCD is playable on the PS2.
kyle you can use ps2mediaplayer to play .avi video files on your ps2 I have done it before but sometimes it skips because the ps2 is only like 300 mhz not much processing power. Search on google for ps2 mediaplayer or something like that and you'll find some type of tutrials that will get you started.
