Using SmartRipper, DVD2AVI, and TMPGenc. Source appears to be NTSC FILM. I've created severl SVCDs with no problem so I believe the problem lies in the FILM property of the source. Has anyone else had problems with "jerky" playback when encoding VCD/SVCD? Thanks.
yes! ive had numerous problems with this. ive switched to eazy vcd (its free). it does everything for you...and makes either vcd or svcd flawlessly.
Yes, and it's due to using the ntsc film template. To do it correctly, you are also to select 3:2 pulldown. Even with that I still had the jerky problem. I do everything in regular ntsc (not film). Just make sure in dvd2avi you don't use 'force film'. You will find your problem solved. People tell me the quality will suffer, but I found as long as I use Highest for motion precision, they come out great.
