    Using SmartRipper, DVD2AVI, and TMPGenc.
Source appears to be NTSC FILM.
I've created severl SVCDs with no problem so I believe the problem lies in the FILM property of the source. Has anyone else had problems with "jerky" playback when encoding VCD/SVCD? Thanks.

Yes, and it's due to using the ntsc film template. To do it correctly, you are also to select 3:2 pulldown. Even with that I still had the jerky problem. I do everything in regular ntsc (not film). Just make sure in dvd2avi you don't use 'force film'. You will find your problem solved. People tell me the quality will suffer, but I found as long as I use Highest for motion precision, they come out great.
