I used tmpgenc's "SuperVideo CD(NTSCFilm)" setting the only thing I changed was the video bitrate from the default to 918 and audio bitrate from 224(the default) to 128 because my player can't play overburned SVCDs. But 128 is still SVCD standard so why is VCDEasy autopadding my already standard SVCD? Well first off the Video bitrate is Less than half of what you need to produce any sort of Acceptable quality , It is even too Low to produce a Standard VCD much less than a SVCD... Is there any reason why you want to make the Lowest possible quality SVCD?? If you are going to use a Bitrate this Low you had better Make VCD"s because the Quality of a VCD at this Bitrate will be Much better than the Quality of the SVCD at this Bitrate..... Even if you were able to Burn the Disk Properly it would Look so awefull on your TV set that it wouldn"t even Be worth watching, You are setting yourself up for Disapointment...... The Padding is Probably being added because your SVCD"s Bitrate is far too low, OR is doesn"t have a SVCD Header in the Stream which will allways cause Padding to be added.... To add a Proper SVCD header to your Mpeg-2 file you simply run the Mpeg-2 file through Tmpgenc"s "Merge & Cut" with the Dropdown menu set to "Super Video-CD" which will add a SVCD header to the File which should stop VCDEasy from adding the Padding But if the Problem is that the Bitrate is too low nothing you do will help accept to Re-encodeing useing a Higher SVCD Bitrate (Between 1600kbs and 2500kbs)...... Why not make DVD"s?? DVD Burners are as Cheap as CD Burners ($40) and the Blank DVD"s are Much Cheaper than Blank CD-R"s on a MB per MB Basis and DVD"s don"t have the Rampant Playback problems that the VCD/SVCD Formats Have Pluss you can Fit 3 Full SVCD Movies on a Single DVD or 4 Full VCD Movies on a Single DVD and have menu"s and Chapters...... Cheers PS: the Log you posted seems to say that there is a problem with your SVCD"s Frame rate....
Thanks, the merge/cut tip worked. I thought it was a standard SVCD because on this page http://www.videohelp.com/svcd it shows that video bitrate has no minimum. I couldn't use VCD because the video bitrate would have to be 1150 and would make it too big to put on a cd (my dvd player won't play SVCDs larger than 700mb, they skip a lot). Using a DVD for a ~700mb video I figured was wasting a lot of DVD space. Well, it is not good quality (during action you see squares) but it is certainly watchable. Thanks for the merge/cut tip!
