I am converting my vhs movies into dvds. I use the plextor pxav100u. the problem is my vcr has only one audio output. so my final has only one audio channel either left or right. i want it to be both. is there a way i can change this and make the sound come from both sides of the speakers? thx
to iba7684-if you merge the channel you would still be only getting sound from one channel, today you can buy a two channel vcr for about sixty dollars and if you have a number of vhs tapes to convert to dvd it would be worth it.
I would agree with what permatex has to say. A cheap VCR with stereo outputs will be your best option. Alternatively, if you want to listen to everything in MONO then buy a splitter. Splitters can be found at radio shack, just take your cable into the store and say "I want 2 mono channels from this single source" they might look at you strangely
