    Hi,

For several weeks, we (my parents and I) have been encountering problems when using an internet browser. I really don't know what we're supposed to do and maybe I'm posting something that has already been anwsered, but I couldn't find any help so far.

The problem is (obviously) that if we connect to a website, we've to wait hours, almost leterally. For example, while waiting for afterdawn to load, I've burnt 2 DVD's at 4x, played the piano after that and gazed at the purple computer screen. In other words: Terribly slow.

I don't exactly know when it started. I installed Windows 7 (running smoothly) and after some time the internet started to act slow. Download test indicate, however, that the download and upload speed are both the one's we've been paying for. If I download something from microsoft.com or something, it goes with 800 kb/s, but google takes about three minutes to load...

Could it be that a virus is harrassing our internet router or modem?

If you need to know any details (some configuration of modem or router) ask away, I seriously don't know what's needed to know.

Thanks in advance and sorry for any incorrect English,

    Mjavado

It sounds like it could be a spy-ware problem. Spy-ware generally leaches internet like that, because it's sending information back to it's own servers.

Thanks, it's been fixed by installing the newest firmware... Always a good start :p
