I just got these and from what I am reading here I should be burning at 16x for better results? not half the rated speed of 8x?
I am using an NEC ND 3530 DVD RW

i use 16x +R verbs all the time. i burn at 8x and i havent had a coaster yet, and i do alot of burning. 12x would be the fastest i would burn. dont get me wrong, i had to burn a few at 16x myself. all of the 16x burns played fine but some had crc errors and the ones i burned at 8x had none.

Burn all at 16X on sony DRU820A quality results look better there than at 8X or4X. I did run into a bad batch purchased at OfficeMax. Half way threw a 50 pack speeds started droping to 8X 33% into burn with bad quality results. So be aware that there are some bad ones out there.

Burn speeds quality are a direct result of Brand of burner which the sony(DRU820A) is a rebadged BenQ, And quality of media.

    Good Luck
