Ok ... I got these verbatim +R life series and they are terrible ... the back up freezes and skips ... after doing some research I find they are no longer the same quality as before ... is there anything I can do the get better burns with this or should I try to cash in on the warranty?
The 'Life Series' has a questionable reputation around many forums. Verbatim DataLife Plus seems to be preferred by many.
I'm learning that ... I update the firmware for my burner and the dvd played fine on the first showing ... then I got the skipping again on the next play. I contacted Verbatim to see about the warranty but no response so far. I will NEVER buy those "life series" or any other cheap version again. I burn the dvd at 8X ... I'm going to try different speeds and my other burner to see if it will behave better.
Thanks for the heads up. I still wouldn't use a different brand then the "original" Verbatim DVD +R and DVD +R DL discs. I never tried the Life Series before. I tried Verbatim's lightscribe, and the White Inkjet Printable (made in Singapore mind you) and they've still worked great, not one coaster to this date.
I plan to let all my friends know about the life series if Verbatim keeps these dics it will surly tarnish their name.
No need ... Verbatim replace the Life Series with the AZO disc ... it cost me an extra 10 bucks though ... to replace the 150 discs.
I just bought a 50 pack if these discs also at BB My burner doesn't even write on them. Says media is bad. Gonna return these & get the ones that are AZO layered. I've NEVER had problems before with Verbatim media until I got these.
Those life series are worthless ... Verbatim needs to stop producing them. I will never buy any of the life series again.
