I have been using Verbatim ever since I started backing up my disc a few years ago ... but I was unable to get them and was force to take the TDK X16 .... since I had to have some I bought them ... I've tried different speeds ... 8x 12x and 16x ... the original plays fine, but at the same part on each disc I make the movies freeze ... I've been able to playback other brand name dvd ... and off brand ... why won't the TDK's play? What can I do to get them to play ... should I tried to bookmark it?
Have a read of this post by Varnull with regards to TDK's and firmware. As far as "booktyping" is concerned, that's a separate issue. You need to fix the burning before you get that far.
Got the problem sorted out folks ... I burned the disc on my other burner ... now it plays back fine ... wish I had of tried that six disc ago! :O
