    I have a [bold]SONY DVD RW DW-G120A[/bold] DVD-WRITER.
    I am writing [bold]4308 data on a SONY DVD[/bold].
I get no error on writing. But on copying the dvd to computer, many of the files are not read.
Next time, i also [bold]checked VERIFY DATA option in NERO 6.6(I use WINXP SP2)[/bold]. And i always start getting read errors wen the verify is about to complete(near 99%), and verify process goes on & on for infinite time. I am giving the log below. Please tell me where is the problem, WRITER or MEDIA? Also, i hav only 1.16 GB free on OS drive(C:). Can this be a problem(although it never gave me such error)! HELP!! - Milan Saxena

First this is not the problem, it is different one. You should turn the DMA to on for your reader.

    === Scsi-Device-Map ===
DiskPeripheral : ST380011A IdeChnDr Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On
    CdRomPeripheral : TSSTcorp DVD-ROM TS-H352A IdeChnDr Port 0 ID 1 DMA: Off
CdRomPeripheral : SONY DVD RW DW-G120A IdeChnDr Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On

    L: CdRom1: SCSIStatus(x02) WinError(0) NeroError(-1128)
    Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR)

This is the problem. Sony DVDs are ok depending on which on you buy, but it is a roll of the dice.

You might salvage some by reducing the file size so you are not burning to close to the edge. This is where just ok media can have a problem.

    milans hi :)
have moved my answer on your other thread here
it's not wise to multi post, it confuses the responses, have asked to close the other thread

if i read you right you only have 1.6 gb of free space on your HDD
i'm sorry to say to burn a 4.3 gb file you will need about 10gb free HDD

that is 4.3 gb for the files you wish to copy
+ 4.3 gb for the disc you are going to burn too
+ about 15% of the total..(8.6 gb) which is 1.29 gb for your pc to "play" with
free up a bit off space and try again
