Recently, as of last wee or so, my Verizon DSL has slowed down dramatically. Basically, if I were to download a file, on that would be downloading at 135 kbps has been going at a maximum speed of 4-6 kbps, and webpage loading has seriously lagged, or the page hasn't been found at all. What could be factors in this? Could it be a torrent running that I have forgotten about? Adware that Norton hasn't detected? The only issue at hand is the internet speed. Our computers are working fine. We are running XP SP2, and the one with the DSL connected has Norton on it, and the DSL has a D-Link WIFI router connected, which my laptop is connected to.

Hope that's descriptive enough for you to help me.

well if you are seeding torrents it will effect your download speed, you couldset your upload speed in your torrent clinet to 10kbs or less, depending on what your dsl speed down and up speed
