version 2.5 and playing movies

    in order to play downloaded movies for my psp which came with firmware 2.5, can i do this of the memory stick.
    or does the same apply for watching downloaded movies that u got to have v1.0 or 1.5

    Lets refer to it as Downloaded Videos shall we as downloading Movies is illegal and you shouldnt be doing it. What you need is software to convert the Video File to the correct format for the PSP. Currently the PSP Will play only MP4 Videos (Without Homebrew). There is software out there that can convert the video that you downloaded to MP4. PSPVideo9 from http://www.pspvideo9.com/ seems to be one of the most popular ones. However Doing some googling will un earth alot of other ones.
