I recently purchased Nero 7 Ultra Edition. During some video editing exports, I experienced a few problems as the program would hang during the export process. I tried to update the program, but was unable to do it directly from the program, so I downloaded the update and tried to install the program. Again I was unsuccessful. I wrote the Nero Support folks and sent them a log. They told me to download Nero Premium from their site. My question is; what is the difference between Nero Ultra and Nero Premium? Second... I want to create menus for my DVD's so when they open I can pick which feature I wish to watch. For example, I want to burn a couple of Episodes of Star Trek on a disc for my son using one of my master CD's. Typically, there are 4 episodes on a “high density” disc, but for quality, I want to only burn 2 episodes on a “regular” disc and not necessarily form the same master. I use DVD Decrypter for most of my of my decryption needs and this program separates each episode into titles. Is there any way to create a menu that I can direct to each title without using the edit feature in Nero, which you need to export and convert to MP4 and then convert it back to DVD format, making the file larger than the original file that I started with? Thanks...
Hello. Ultra = Premium There isn't a difference. Edit: Add Be sure you run the Nero 7 Clean Tool before to do a complete uninstall before reinstalling. Most of us recommend version 7.0.8.2 for Nero 7. http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero7_CleanTool.html Nero 7.0.8.2: http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?845 In order to create menus you have to use an authoring program of some sort. You might try TMPGEnc Author. Version 1.6 has a fully functional free trial. It's my editing/menuing program of choice because it's fast. http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/download/tda16.html You can also use DVD Shrink when your backing up and set the titles you don't want on the disk to a still image and put jpeg that says Next Disk or somesuch in their place. The original menus will still be fully functional that way. You can use Vobblanker to do much the same. http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/guides/VobBlanker/adding_menus/index.htm You can also use a commercial program like DVD Remake to backup and alter the original menus. http://www.dimadsoft.com/products.php http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvdremake_tutorial.cfm Lastly at $2 per disk, using DL media is sometimes a good and expedient idea. Just do an exact copy.
