+ versus -

    Great discs - i buy them as well.

    My understanding and experience is that -R is much much more compatible with standalone dvd players than +R.

    Perhaps i was mislead and had some bad experiences.
    Any thoughts from someone who truly knows.

    Dvd-rom is most compatable with stand-alone dvd players. Dvd+r is the only one of the 2 formats that can be booktyped dvd-rom. Not all dvdrw drives are capable of bitsetting/booktyping. If your drive is capable then dvd+r is the way to go. If your drive is not capable then dvd-r will probably be more compatable especially with older stand-alone dvd players.
