I have a pretty new HP Pavilion Media Center PC model number a1253w. I had never had problems with it playing back DVD's till after I installed Dvd shrink. After that any dvd I try to play skips horribly. I've tried everything to fix it such as making sure DMA was turned on for the drive and the IDE controllers, uninstalling Dvd shrink, uninstalling codecs and dvd encoders and dvd playback software. I've done everything I can and nothing works at all. If anyone can help me fix this problem it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
do you have another dvdrom or dvd burner you can install and test? See if your player went belly up. If your PC is pretty new, you could probably get the drive replaced.
