I've searched for an answer but, may in fact be too retarded to have noticed it. I have a geforce2 mx400 video card with s-video and rca. Each plug says 'out', but I was wondering if it matters. If I remmeber correctly when I purchased the card (long ago) its stressed that you could use it to capture TV/DVD/VCR/etc. Did I get taken for a ride when I bought it, and it in fact can not capture anything? If so, then what economy video card would anyone recomend instead. I'm leaning towards ATI (probably 9600), as I know how to use VIVO already through my friends comp. Also, my TV has the S-Video and RCA bridge in teh front, they all say input, do I need to run the cable all the way to the back of the TV? THX for all responses
The Outputs on your Video Card are for "TV out" Not for Video Capture... You might be better off Getting a dedicated Capture card as Opposed to a VIVO card because if you ever want to upgrade your Video Card you will also have to Upgrade your capture card Pluss a Dedicated PCI capture card would be a Lot Cheaper than Buying a VIVO card and the Capture quality on a Dedicated Card Might be better.... You can Pick up a Dedicated PCI capture Card For between $50 and $100 depending on the Type of Device you would Like to get...There are a few New Good Hardware Mpeg-2 Capture devices just released that are supposed to produce very good Quality, Like this one is supposed to be Very Good: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1224450&Sku=P262-3016 Cheers
