My ethernet card isn't showing up under my network connections. So I check the device manager and it wasn't installed also. Alot of other things were uninstalled like wan mini port, ethernet packet scheduler and a whole bunch of other stuff related to internet, protocols and such.

This problem happened right after I took my PC out and brushed it and vacuumed it to clean the dust. My ethernet card gets an error code 31 unable to load the drivers. I really doubt my ethernet card is faulty. I also tried installing my USB ethernet card and the same thing happens. I have disabled onboard ethernet and lan. Still nuthing. I did (add hardware) and results were the same.

I'm going to surf the net for info if anyone had this problem or know anything that could help plz post.TY

edit: I also checked my NIC for a link light and it was on and blinking just more info added.

Some of what you descibed sounds like a spyware problem. The hardware not showing up part is strange. So try this: http://www.snapfiles.com/php/download.php?id=107303. That fixes the spyware related issues but am not sure if it will fix missing hardware.

I know your scratching your head wondering how cleaning the system could casue this. Well there is a place in the reg called run once. If something was sitting there then it loaded when you restarted the machine. Looking in the key now would be usless since it is empty. Also get Adaware and spybot if you dont already have it. Thier updates can be downloaded at thier web sites.

go into safemode to see if the stuff is there & if so remove it than restart windows in normal mode to hopefully pick it up
