Hi, Not sure if this is the right part of the forum but here goes: Got a PC up stairs and wanted to connect it to my big Samsung LCD downstairs. So bought 15m of audio and vga lead, got delivered last week. Run it down the stairs to see if it worked and it did, fantastic. Lifted the floor boards last night, fed it through the joists etc, but the last part I couldnt get the vga plug down a void, so had to resort in chopping the cable. So today I receonnected the wires all nicely soldered, turned pc on and tv displayed windows loading but as soon as it loads tv goes to blue screen and displays an error message, mode not supported. What could be causing this? all wires are connected to the corresponding colour etc, so unsure why its not working. Cable colours are as follows: Red with outer metal strands Green with outer metal strands Blue with outer metal strands Purple Orange Yellow Green Under the black outer sheathing were metal strands, connected these back up. Dont get how windows loading works, but only to it gets to windows login bit?? weird Thanks in advance for any help, Regards, Gareth
oops!!! When i plugged it in the first time the tv recognised the pc and set the screen res accordingly, plugged my monitor back in and adjusted the screen res to suit the monitor, forgot to vhange it back for the tv!! been wrecking my head all day tryin to figure it out, stripping wires back and soldering. Oh well, be easier when I get my dvi connector plug through, no more titing round with the res! Gaz
