I have an older Emachines computer. I recently installed Windows XP and it will only boot up in VGASafe mode. I found a video card (ATI Rage PCI 32MB Video Card) and was wondering if anyone could give advice on what to do. Is this video card compatible or is there anyway to use the onboard video card and not boot up in VGA Safe.

what does it show for video controller in device manager as it sounds like you did not install the video driver?
