I have geared up to transfer my VHS to DVD with a Hauppauge 150MCE capture card. I used the Hauppauge software for the capture and then used Ulead Movie Factory to edit and burn. When playing back the MPG file from the capture before burning, all were fine except one. It has a scratchy/staticy sound approximately every 10 seconds, almost like the sound was somehow incorporated to discourage copying. It is a Playboy video about Farrah that is called All Of Me. Has anyone heard of this or is it maybe something with my setup. I have a Athlon XP 2.6, a gig of ram and 700 gig of hard drive. its a brand new VCR and a relatively unused tape. Like I said, this did not occur with any other tapes. Thanks for reading this and any suggestions would be appreciated......Mike

Is the sound in the original mpg, or just in the authored dvd?

It could be the tape misaligned on the heads during playback.
It could be some copy protection on the tape.
It could be poor cable connections.
It could just be crappy audio originally, which is amplified during the digitizing process.
