You will need to know if you have a clone or genuine Count the vents on top 18x7 = Clone 25x7 = Genuine 13x7 = 1st Generation Also looking from the front Scart to the left = Clone Scart to the right = Genuine Also you can go here to see some pics http://www.freewebs.com/dooby2oon
yeah, its genuine box. i also have a serial cable to plug it into my laptop when downloading the software, do i do to starview, or starview pvr?
ok! i just realised i will need 2 buy a female to female adaptor as my lead is male to male. i will get onto it tomorow. these codes are not working that i was linked to. is there any others? what will be the advantages once updated to ver. 4.00?
What provider are you with ? All codes providers given in that link and all codes in it are up to date so it could be you're entering them wrong or not storing them after you enter them
i got it! sorry i didnt realise that i had to turn off the EMU before entering the keys, then turn it back on after. so what advantages will i gain from downloading ver 4.00 onto my starview? i read on another post about how to tell if its a starview 1 or 2. mines is a 1. so when i plug my box into my laptop, do i disconnect it from my tv and the power? what steps do i take on my pc?
Version 4 will most of the time auto update the codes on your box when they change it saves you having to keep doing it yourself,it'll also improve the EPG a little bit but not much and if you're experiencing alot of "Info bad/scrambled channel" messages while watching a channel this version will also stop that. To update your box you'll need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F. Null modem info http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=L71BT&DOY=2m6 If your pc does not have a serial port you will need a USB to serial port adapter to use in conjunction with the null modem cable. USB Adapter info http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Modu...erial Adaptor These two cable links are only for reference as they can be purchased alot cheaper on fleabay. All firmware/loader can be found here http://eko.4shared.com/ You will need the GTromloader, (Starview Software Uploader), found in the Starview software folder of the link. **You should download the Starview PDF guide this will give you step by step instructions on how to do everything***.This can be found in the Starview Documentation folder in the link.
