so, i have flashed several different drives, samsung and hitachi alike, and i have always used the slax cd method to get the hitachi's into mode b. i bought a sata card because at the time my pc did not have onboard slots. via sata 6421.... i just built a new pc, and set my old one aside. uninstalled the card from the old one, put it in mine cuz i wasnt sure about the onboard chipset. the slax cd would get to a point where it says, looking for data modules. and stops. the only way i can get it to go any farther is to open the 360 drive and close it. before i didnt have to do that. before it would say spinning up disk, come up with a failed message, and it would put the drive in mode b. so, i put it back in the old pc, installed the drivers without raid, and still it does the same thing. Could it be the particular drive? will my onboard sata ports work with a nvidia nforce 650i SLI chipset? the drive was a hitachi 47d, i had already flashed it with xtreme firmware and was needing to get it back into mode b to spoof it for a samsung ms28? FYI, i will not attempt the cross wire trick for this drive, i have done it succesfully twice, and the third time i fried the entire system. could have messed up the third time, but im not taking that chance again. is there an updated slax cd i need? or a better sata card? Thanks for any help i get ahead of time. Ive flashed 9 xbox 360's thus far and never had this issue.
