Ok... this is my 1st time posting and I did many searches in hopes of not reposting a question. Here is my problem/questions. Camera is a Panasonic palmcorder VHS-C. Outputs are via to RCA connectors. My card is a Gainward Geforce 4 Ti4200. OS is Win Xp with SP2 Im using Win Movie Maker Here is My setup. Im running the latest Nvidia Graphics driver and the latest 2.20 WDM capture drivers. Im using the yellow nvidia VIVO RCA connection as my video in and connecting my yellow video out from my camcorder. Audio is not hooked up at this point as that is another question. Movie maker will see the capture device as nividia wdm universal capture. However it will not detect/play any thing coming in. I have verafied that my cables for the camera are indeed working as I can play movies on my TV. The VIVO cable is new, as I ordered from Gainward last week. Does anyone have any suggestions to make this work or if this is even a viable way to capture. My second question is do they make a converter that will convert from RCA to the microphone input? I know they make them to go from the microphone style plug to an RCA MALE output but I need one thats a female. Hard to Explain. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free chime in. Do I have all the required software??Do Ineed specific codecs?? Thanks Ray Cameron bigbadbowtie@yahoo.com _X_X_X_X_X_[small]Ray In Bama[/small]
there could be a lot of things causing the video not to show up on the preview, first thing i would try is another capture program. here is a link to a good free program called Virtual-VCR: http://virtualvcr.sourceforge.net/html/virtualvcr/download.php and yes, you need a Y adaptor to go from left and right RCA to stereo mini-jack, here is a link from radioshack: http://www.radioshack.com/product.a..._name=CTLG_007_002_001_002&product_id=274-883
Turkey, I can't thank you enough. It works absolutely perfect with that program. I found the adapter at rad shack. You are the man!!!!! Ray In Bama
