Howdy all, I've just recently begun DVD burning. My primary interest is in taking video clips from news shows and documentaries, compiling them into custom DVDs, and using them in my classroom teaching. I also will be converting some educational films never released on DVD from VHS to DVD. I have a WinTV tuner/capture card that gives me a large number of options for the format ("quality level") of my video capture, including AVI, DivX, and dozens of DivX variations. I know that "transcoding" these captured video segments is quite a workout for my PC, so I was wondering if anyone could provide guidance on which format will give me the best balance between efficiency and quality, or any other information as to the differences in all of these formats. I'm using Nero Ultra 6 to compile the clips and author the DVDs, by the way. Thanks for any advice y'all can give. MB- "Podunk."
