I am having problems capturing video from my Sony Handycam DV. I have a Dell Dimensionn 4600 with 512 ram, running XP. I installed a firewire port. When I try to capture film either on Nero or Windows Movie, it comes in all pixalated and broken up. What do you think the problem might be. I have tried to use different settings, it doesn't help. It works fine on my son's ibook and on another friends Dell. But I cannot get a good feed? I have updated the XP from Windows, do I need more RAM?
    Thanks for your help
    Chas

    cschaner,
Welcome to the forum. First thing I would look at is the Firewire port you installed as if it works on others fine that is where I would start. More Ram never hurts

    Thanks,
How do I check that out. It identifies the camera, but the control of the camera from the computer can be a bit touchy. Perhaps the ebay deal wasn't such a bargain? Other than that when I diagnostic it , the computer says it is working properly.
    Thanks again.

    cschaner ,
Take that Port out and put it in another computer and see if does the same thing as in yours
