Nope. 6800Gt's come at 1000Mhz stock. XFX 6600GT's usually come at 1000Mhz stock as well, but memory isnt everything and the 6800GT totally ownz the 6600GT period.

The X800PRO, X800XT, and X800XL are the better cards out of the ones you listed in your first post. (X800XT and X800XL especially)

Ati and NVidia are pretty equal right now. It really comes down to personal preference.

The X850XT PE. The X1600XT's are very fast, but not as good as the X850XT's still.

Personally id choose nvidia as im used to them and prefer the driver control panel layout as its easier to use but really its down to what you like. nvidias memory clock speeds tend to be higher than ati but if your looking at a mid range card theres not a lot of difference between the 2 brands

    ...ATI... or NVIDIA... lol

XFX are possibly the best youll get out of nvidia for speeds but MSI and Gigabyte make pretty good cards too

not sure about ati as i dont use them

I purchased the 6800 a month ago on sale and used riva tuner to unlock it to 6800GT. Same exact thing for half the price.
