I want to buy a new video card so i can play the newer games like Battlefield 2 and so on. I have been searching the net, for reviews and what not, so far i am thinking abou the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro and the GeForce 6600GT, I am looking for a card up to $150. Are these good choices? would they be obsolete in a year or 2? any reccomendation about these cards or any other is welcome.

depends on the games you are going to play as to whether they are obsolete in a yr or 2

yes, i am leaning toward more the 6600gt as well, but another question is from which maker do get it from, i mean, MSI, XMX,CHAINTECH,PONY,etc. same chipset.

are there any incompatibility issues with this card, would it need separate power source too.

You'll need 1 spare power connector for the back of the card, all the 6600GT's are pretty much the same the only difference's are clock speeds, cooling solutions and memory chips, XFX,BFG,MSI,Chaintech & EVGA are about the best out there and a dew more that i have forgot about, as far as i know there are no known incompatability issues just make sure you download/install the latset driver .... let us know what you go with ;)
