Which one tickles your fancy? I've had great success with my 6800GS...and so have those who bought the X800... Far as I remember though, the 6800GS is 12 pipes (AGP has the other 4 locked but can be unlocked - PCI-E version is strictly 12 pipe). I take it the CO SE model (eVGA perhaps?) has the others unlocked?
well if u compare the two for memory speed and clock spped here for the Saphire X800GTO GDDR3 256 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102628 and the NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GS CO SE 256 GDDR3 here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130271 which onl;y has 12 pixel pipes then i would go with the Nvidia Geforce Everytime. so 16 pixel pipes will make it slightly better as well! Regards
well heres the sight if you wanna see it http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1784238&CatId=0
Had a look at that site and cant c where it says it has 16 pipes however i think u should get it or one similar.
well if you look on the place where it has pictures of stuff like the GPU and other stuff then it will say 16-pipe and have a ship next to it
Did someone say EVGA 6800? Great deal. Check this out. http://firingsquad.com/hardware/geforce_6800_unlocking/page2.asp
TigerDirect may have posted that the core is 16 pipes, but the eVGA site says it's only 12. I know for a fact that the 6800GS core for the PCI-E card is only 12 pipes. Keep an eye out on that purchase, though it's more than likely an error on the TD page. Which, btw, they are going to say they are not responsible for. http://www.evga.com/products/moreinfo.asp?pn=256-P2-N389-AX&family=17
if u look at my post the link says it is 12 pipe but i would still buy that graphics card over the X800 - not that ihave anything against ATI i have always used them, but when im going to be building my new pc it wont have one in at the moment.
