Video cassette (copyright protected)to DVD

    I believe I heard about some sort of device that one can use to copy video cassettes to DVD even though they are copyright protected. If I recall correctly it was something that goes between the vcr and the dvd. Can you tell me about that?

    One other question. If you have an all in one unit dvd/vcr recroder where would this device be installed?

    Hi From my experience and previous testin if u put little bit of tissue and stickt tape over yje slot of write protection on the video it becomes a recordable again and u can transfer the vid across to DVD.

    I think you misunderstood me. It isn't the physical write protection on the tape case. It is the actual tape that is copyright protected and then protected with some sort of code.
