I can't thank everyone here enough. I just registered today, and I have only been reading threads here for about 2 weeks in my spare time (I am a RadioShack manager, I have little spare time). Anyway, I have been trying to backup PS2 games, movies, etc for a few years now without success. I have often told people that if I could go to someone's house that does these things, sit down and watch them do it a couple times, I could do it. Well, this site has proved to be just a good!! In the VERY short time I have been here, I have learned and accomplised backing up WORKING ps2 backups and am now working on backing up DVD movies, which I know I will be able to do from what I have been reading. I have 1 question though...I like to download lots of tv show seasons. I have been burning them on DVD's in DATA format. They play back great on my computer, but that's it. I figure someday there will be DVD players that will play them and for now I can just watch them on the PC. Anyway, I would really like to be able to play them in a DVD player now. My question is...a lot of the time, the files that I download are file type: video clip, and opens with: windows media player. Exactly what type of file is 'video clip'? Can someone direct me to a thread that will show me how to get these files onto a dvd-r that will play on a dvd player. Do I need to convert these files to something else? etc. Thanx for so much so far and hope to hear from you soon!
one more btw. I took one of the files and converted it to MPEG2 using some program I downloaded that was called Mc...?, sorry don't remember, (i got rid of it since it didn't work), It appeared that when I had the conversion up, that it was converting from MPEG4 to MPEG2, but when I was done, the disc was not recognized in ANY dvd players that I tried, they all said, "no audio, no video", or invalid disc, etc....and these were brand new-read everything dvd players at my store.
man i can be dumb! the files will SOMETIMES say 'video clip', but the ones i have right now say file type: 'movie clip'. don't know if this changes anything, but there ya go
