video clips burning

    Sorry if this is the wrong place to post - I could not really find one that I understood to be right. I would consider buying a burner for my computer if I knew that favorite clips that can be viewed on windows media etc. could be saved successfully. Sometimes after a few months the sites disappear and I would like to save them.

    Yes you can save clips if you can get them downloaded. Once they are downloaded you convert them into DVD-Video files and burn them onto a DVD. A program like VSO's DivX to DVD works as well as Nero's Nerovision Express 3.

    If you have a video capture card on your computer you can also download any VHS videos that you might have (of the kids or whatever)in MPEG2 format and then burn to DVD. I have just converted quite a few (9x3hr tapes) over to DVD, now I can throw out all my old tapes which deteriate after a while.

    Thank you - that is my problem I don't seem to know how to download them - everytime it says some error message about speed or synchronization - so I decided it just could not be done - maybe not allowed.
