Hi, my problem is when I encode an AVI to mpeg2 is that the sound is not in sync with the video. I encode from AVI because I have a media player and it seems better, although the picture quality is not quite as good, mpeg2 fills up the screen. I have no experience, just trial and error because I have this media centre I use Isofter to convert dvd to mpg as the media player does not play dvds. This works well.
How do I syncronise the sound when I convert? I use any video converter professional for encoding! I was using the freeware version and found it great. Thanks!

Does your media center play AVI? Maybe instead of converting to mpeg(lose quality) you can just change the resolution/PAR/crop the video if you want it to fill up the screen.
The audio of your AVI is VBR probably, that's why the out of sync once converted to mpeg.

Hi, I my multimedia centre plays AVIs but they don't fill up the screen. I will check to see if I change the aspect if this helps with the size. I have tried zoom but it is no good! Thanks
