I already posted about this once before but go no answer so I thought I would try again. I've tried to find an answer elsewhere to no avail. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/37683 Although I can capture with the software that came with my capture card I cannot use VirtualDub (which I would much prefer to use). I get the "video device already in use" error and nothing I do, including upgrading all relevant software, will fix it. It's completely frustrating and I know other people have to have had the same problem. I'm currently using Windows XP and a FlyVideo 3000 card.
I am having the same problem. I want to use VirtualDub but cannot. I have the Hauppauge WinTV PVR 250. I can capture video if I use the Hauppauge software (WinTV2000). When I use VDub I get the message "Video Device Already in Use". I get the same error if I use AVI_IO. I am running XP. There may be some XP process running that I am not aware of. I don't know. I really like VirtualDub and AVI_IO. The WinTV2000 software does not have enough options. Zeke_X_X_X_X_X_[small](.Y.)[/small]
What specific version number of the driver did you use? I have the same setup pretty much and only a certain revision 3.31 if i remember correctly works with WindowsXP Sp1. The 3.39 release doesnt work so well.... at all.
