I'm looking for software that can capture input, create menus, edit video (crop, splice, transitions, effects/adjust color/contrast/etc). I'm using Roxio Easy Media 8 and it can't handle the input from my video camera, it crashes continually. Roxio also takes approx 5 hours to burn 1:30 minutes of video and has no ability to edit video once it's captured.

All it can do, (when working) is capture video without editing capabilities and create limited DVD menus.

Any assistance or ideas you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I don't even know where to start looking. expence is an issue(I don't have much income). Thanks, Chad

The only program that can do what you want without reencoding is womble mpeg video wizard dvd, It has titles/menu's/transitions etc. It is a frame accurate editor and very fast. From my use on windows xp, its works pretty good without crashing. It's Vista compatible but never tried it on Vista. I've used Pinnacle and tmpeng, but both would cause my computer to crash and would take 3 to 4 hours to reencode the video.

    Try out the demo
