If you just want to do pure editing of mpegs/vobs without adding titles and transitions. Use "Videoredo" it's fast and won't degrade your video since it doesn't reencode the output. If you want to edit mpegs/vob's and add transitions/titles and have your finished product in DVD compliant format, try "Womble mpeg video wizard dvd" , It works very well and it's easy to use. It also is quick. These two programs are the only ones I use for editing mpegs, they are very stable and don't crash like many other programs I've tried.
