Does anyone know of a good video edititng program I can use to edit out commercials from a TV show I recorded to my PC.
try videoredo plus. That's the only program I use, it works on mpeg1/mpeg2/vobs. It has a feature that will scan a video file for commercials. It is frame accurate and edits without reencoding the video. A 2 hour video will take about 5 minutes to save after you remove the commercials, other programs can take 2-3 hours to save the finish product. http://www.videoredo.com/en/ProductPlus.htm
Nice program but one problem; there was a gradual audio sync problem after the cut. I didn't have time to experiment with it but can videoredo fix this?
try running the file through the quickstream fix first, then edit it. What kund of files are you using? I use mpeg2 files (some 3 hours long) amd haven't encountered any audio sync problems. The only time I encountered audio/sync problems is vob's but I was able to fix it. Also check there forum in there website, they might have a better procedure for you.
I use drv-ms files (mpeg2). Do you suggest: 1. Ad detective 2. Double check Ad detective's work 3. Quickstream 4. "Save as" the new edited file Thanks again nfor all of your help.
