I have both Roxio and Nero but as far as I can tell, when I try to use either one of these products to edit a video (such as remove the beginning and end), I must change the format (encoding), bit rate Etc. I want to be able to edit a video with the end result being identical to the original except that parts have been edited out. What's the best / least expensive software I can use to do this. Thanx - ~kresknull
For AVI, use Avidemux. For MPEG-2/VOB, use Mpg2cut. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/avidemux.cfm http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Mpg2Cut2
@attar – thank you, the original happens to be AVI. @GrandpaBW – I was under the impression that both Roxio and Nero do this. I have more experience with Nero because Nero is easier for me to understand. When I try to edit a movie using Roxio, I tend to lose patients and become aggravated. However, I might try printing out instructions like I did with recording an LP onto a CD. Hopefully I can figure out how to do this with Roxio – if Roxio does it like I said.
