Hey all, I've got questions about video encoding software. I've been givin the task of re-encoding our church services and posting them to our Media server. Im currently using windows media encoder to do this, after much study, figured out how to do a batch encode with it. The only problem being that WME doesn't Join the files together. So after reading about encoders int the latest DV Magazine, i see that the Procoder 2 is a pretty good choice...any thoughts?

I'm looking for a streamlined process of encoding and joining so that i can post my videos on the web as quickly as possible...i can't be waiting days, untill i finish the re-encodes, know what i mean.

Also, what are some good settings to use? I've be using a modified profile within wme to encode to 320 X 240, de-interlaced. Im not real knowledgeable about the video streaming, except that it makes my file sizes larger.

    Please Help,

    Caleb

Procoder 2 would do a good job, but is expensive.

Cheap video editors can export to WMV and will be able to join your videos. You could try Windows Movie Maker. It's free if you have WindowsXP and will definitely export to WMV. Only question is if it will import the type of file you have.
