I'm sure this is will have an easy answer from all the vetern burners here. I've been playing around a little to see different ways to burn. I was looking at http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/guides.htm for the guide on burning video files with Nero. I got to the point where I try to burn and get a DVD-Video Compliance test failed. I had ripped the files with Decrypter. Do I need to rip my original a different way first? The *.BUP file is not there. I'm just trying new ways to burn. So far I'm using AnyDVD, Decrypter, and Shrink; burning with Decrypter, or just Shrink and burn with Nero. Any thoughts? thanks!
You have to keep all the files. The .bup files are a required part of any DVD-Video folder. Nero sees that it's not there and gives you the error. If you need to remove things, try using Shrink in the Reauthor mode. That will keep your files compliant. Those are all good methods, I'd recommend you try opening your DVD in Nero Recode with AnyDVD running as another method. Also give ImgBurn a try. It is the updated burning engine from DVD Decrypter. http://www.imgburn.com/
I used to just have to use AnyDVD, DVD Decrypter, and then Nero Recode and burn it with Nero, but now it gives me that "compliance test failed" on EVERY movie I try burning... I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've walked thru all the steps to make sure that none of the settings had changed from the first time I set everything but it still won't burn... am I supposed to be using DVD Shrink before Recoding with Nero, and if so, why didn't I have to before?? Can someone please help and talk in easy to understand terms please? I am quite ignorant when it comes to computers!! Thank you! Gerri
