first of all i'm atleast trying to get my video working again.

i have vista set up on a new computer and i was trying to get a ati radeon 9200se to work.

i had already plugged the video card in, the monitor would work with the onboard video.

first i plugged the monitor into the video card but i kept getting NO SIGNAL on the monitor.
i plugged it back into the onboard video for now.

i got on another computer looked around and read i should "go to device manager and uninstall the drivers for the onboard video, restart the computer and go into the bios, set it off of onboard video
    http://www.compatdb.org/support/topics/175014_ati_radeon_9200se_not_working_properly.html

thats as far as i got before things messed up.

i turned it off and hooked the monitor up to the video card, it wouldnt work.
then i hooked it back up to the onboard, it wouldnt work the first few times.
it finaly came to the bios, i set things back to the onboard video but after that windows wouldnt start it went to either crazy vertical bars of a black screen then the bars.
after that i kept getting NO SIGNAL.

    thats where i am.

reset your bios to factory settings, that should clear that issue up and use the on board for the time being. then once the on board is back up and working you need to leave the new ATI plugged in and go install the drivers for it. once the drivers are installed, go into video options and change the source for the video and there should be the generic option which is on board and then there should be the ATI option which is the card you installed.
