I've got an AVI file that I was playing in windows media. I want to be able to get a screenshot of the show but can't seem to get it working. I did the old Ctrl+PrtScn and pasted into my Paint program, then saved the file. All looks good until I close windows media and try to open the file. All I get is a black screen with the blue control bar (play, fast forward, volume, etc) along the bottom. After retrying several times with the same results I found a program called IrFanView 4.00 which I tried. I went to the options and chose the Capture/Screenshot button, followed the directions and then tried the hot key Ctrl+F11 and nothing happens at all. Checked the directory where I wanted it to save and nothing is there. Any ideas?
This works for me. # Open Windows Media Player # Then go to Tools | Options # In Options, select the Performance Tab # Click on the Advanced Button Below are my settings. Save them and press 'Print Screen' key or pause video and print screen.
