I have been having trouble trying to convert some of my music videos to mp3 format. I have been using virtualdub but some of my videos have been getting an error. "Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'XVID' (unknown) Virtualdub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. You don't need to be able to decode the video to demux the audio though. VirtualDubMod will open a video without a decoder. Just locks it to direct streaming. Makes sense to have XviD installed or if you are using ffdshow for XviD playback, you could enable XviD VfW decoding.
