I have been having trouble trying to convert some of my music videos to mp3 format. I have been using virtualdub but some of my videos have been getting an error.

"Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'XVID' (unknown)
Virtualdub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. Directshow codecs, such as those used by WIndows media player, are not suitable."

anyway to fix this or is there another free program like virtualdub that works as well as it

You don't need to be able to decode the video to demux the audio though. VirtualDubMod will open a video without a decoder. Just locks it to direct streaming. Makes sense to have XviD installed or if you are using ffdshow for XviD playback, you could enable XviD VfW decoding.

That's true celtic_d. At least he'll have something to view his video now. :)
