I am new to this and want to use TMPGENC to convert a PAL DVD to a NTSC DVD - but what do I have to do with the VIDEO-TS file to get TMPGENC to be able to use it as the video input file?
    Any help is appreciated.

Are you using TMPGEnc DVD Author, or TMPGEnc? If its the latter, then it wont work. You will need to donwload the former.

Also, are you aware of the problems when it comes to converting between PAL and NTSC. Its not easy and you can be left with screwed up sound.

I have already downloaded TMPGEnc DVD Author but I cannot find any information in the guides that tell me how to use TMPGEnc DVD Author to convert PAL - NTSC.
I do realise that the audio can be out of sync but I would like to try the conversion if it is not too difficult.
    Any help is apprecaited

Well, go to the guides section http://www.afterdawn.com/articles

Read the DVD to VCD guide, not because that is what ur going to be doing but becuase it teaches you how to frameserve DVD2AVI to TMPGEnc. However, the guide is a little outdated so when it comes to loading in the d2v file for video and audio source, click file - project woizard, that will allow you to easily select an NTSC DVD option (I strongly recommend you change CBR linear PCM audio to CBR Mpeg-1 layer-2 Audio (mp2), also low resolution will speed up the encoding time!). So choose which u need and then load in the video and audio source after clicking next. Then click next again and click other settings, click the advanced tab and set Video Arrange Method to "Full Screen (Keep Aspect Ratio)". Click ok and click next twice, then choose where u want to save the mpeg file and click ok. It will then start the conversion.

When it is finished use TMPGEnc DVD Author to author and nero to burn. There is a guide for burning with Nero here - http://www.afterdawn.com/articles/archive/burning_dvd_with_nero.cfm

Good luck and anymore questions, dont hesitate!
