I have a VIDEO_TS folder with 6 episodes of a cartoon. In VLC it goes to the English root menu but when I preview it with IfoEdit, it starts with a language selection menu in which I can choose for Dutch, English, Spanish, etc. If I then select a language (also with English), it shows a copyright warning in the selected language and a company logo and then it goes to a Dutch video stream with trailers of other movies where a message shows in Dutch (translated): "Press MENU to play the movie or to select other options" When I do so, IfoEdit plays the selected language's root menu in which the options to select audio and subtitle language don't work (English is alway selected although the video stream also contains a Dutch audio and subtitle stream.) The strange thing is that I can only see the English root menu in DVDShrink although the VIDEO_TS folder thus seems to contain other language's root menu too. Now my question is how I can re-author this VIDEO_TS folder so that the Dutch root menu shows when I start the DVD and so that the subtitle and audio selection options work? Or would this be much to complicated and should I just extract the episodes with my preferred streams with DVDShrink? (Btw, the menus are static with a background song.)
I sometimes find that media Player Classic Home Cinema is better for testing menu operation than VLC. That to one side, it's possible to change the first play item using PgcEdit. There is a Trace function (Ctrl T) that you can use to step to the required menu, then using the 'Jump to PGC on DVD Insert' command to change the default navigation - note that there is no assurance that the audio/subs selection problem you have mentioned would be corrected or changed. Here is a Word.doc that has my working notes: http://www.mediafire.com/?4zizdz1naol
