i do have a full list of my video codecs. i can email them out if anyone wants to see. thank you again
see the deal was my brother passed away and i got the pc. he had nero on it but it was just for burning. he was using wmp and or inter actual player. they worked. the pc crashed and i lost it all and im in the boat that i am in now. i just figured "hey nero 7 ultra should work great"! not so. i also tried the inter actual player and i get a video suberror. all my games a quake4 call of duty 2 halflife 2 work great so i know it isnt a video card problem. i also updated all the drivers on the video card. thanks again!
Sorry to hear your brother passed away!!!! have you done a defrag lately if not it might be time to do one.Otherwise you may consider doing a clean install and starting from scratch.Make sure if you go down this avenue that you back everything up first 1st. See how you go.
when you say clean sweep , what do you mean? For me a clean sweep is to backup all data and then put my windows disc in the drive and reformat the whole system!!! Try it with out nero 7 installed and never install interactural player its a big problem , nearly as much as incd is with nero in general Do you not have power dvd?
Run hijackthis and stop unwanted proceses very good tool but dangerous if your not sure what the process is google it. I would probally format the hard drive and load the programs on from scratch and that way you know exactly what's installed. Also try using windvd or powerdvd these are the very best in dvd playing software in my opinion. This almost sounds like a directX problem or codec issue to me. Run prompt and typ in dxdiag from there youcan run a couple of tests. Im pretty sure installing windvd or powerdvd will install the mpeg 2 codec. Good Luck Spacedust
